Dr. Tauro-Miller with "Dragon"
|
Dawn Tauro-Miller, D.V.M. obtained her Bachelor of Science in biology from Tufts University in her home town of Medford, Massachusetts, in 1990. She worked as a veterinary technician all through college, and during her first three years of veterinary school. She met her husband, David Miller, a dairy farmer in Woodstock, CT, while doing a large animal ambulatory medicine rotation in her fourth year of veterinary school. She graduated from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Shortly thereafter, she began her career as a companion animal veterinarian, working in Massachusetts for two years before taking a position at Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital in 1997.
Dr. Tauro-Miller lives in Woodstock. She has four children: Lela, Ciri, Bryn, and Xandar. Some of you may know Lela as one of our previous veterinary technicians at the hospital. The Miller family also has two cats: Dragon and Khaleesi.
Dr. Tauro-Miller loves being a veterinarian and feels very fortunate to be living her lifelong dream. When she is not busy with family activities or her veterinary responsibilities, she fills most of her remaining time playing ice hockey. She also enjoys weight lifting, paddle boarding, and reading.
