Dawn Tauro-Miller, D.V.M. obtained her Bachelor of Science in biology from Tufts University in her home town of Medford, Massachusetts, in 1990. She worked as a veterinary technician all through college, and during her first three years of veterinary school. She met her husband, David Miller, a dairy farmer in Woodstock, CT, while doing a large animal ambulatory medicine rotation in her fourth year of veterinary school. She graduated from Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Shortly thereafter, she began her career as a companion animal veterinarian, working in Massachusetts for two years before taking a position at Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital in 1997. Dr. Tauro-Miller joined the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) Executive Board in 2004 and has served as the Windham County director, and presently serves as the Grievance Committee coordinator.
Dr. Tauro-Miller lives in Woodstock with her husband, David, and their four children, Lela, Ciri, Bryn, and Xandar. She is passionate about veterinary medicine and feels very fortunate to be living her lifelong dream. When left with a few moments of quiet time not spent pursuing professional activities or caring for her family, she is an avid reader, amateur photographer, and enjoys many activities related to computer technology.
